I just realized where the sine, cosine, and tangent functions came from. And then I felt really stupid. And then I realized that while I'd had quite a few trigonometric equations involving them crammed down my throat in high school, no one ever bothered to give me this little tidbit of knowledge. Why are schools taught this way?
